Soy Milk or Cow’s Milk?

by in Health Tips May 26, 2022

This systematic review and meta-analysis set out to answer this question once and for all.
The systematic review and meta-analysis included 18 studies that compared soy milk either to a placebo or to cow’s milk.
It found that drinking soy milk significantly reduces total cholesterol and the unhealthy LDL cholesterol. Though soy milk did not reduce weight, it did significantly reduced waist circumference, which may suggest a healthier distribution of weight. It also led to significantly lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Finally, soy milk significantly reduced markers of inflammation.
Given these very important effects on cardiovascular risk factors, the researchers emphasize the value of soy milk in the diet.
