Green Tea Extract: Body Fat & Menopause
Visceral and body fat can increase at menopause. And that can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. This double-blind study gave a placebo or 150mg of green tea extract twice a day for 60 days to overweight menopausal women. The green tea led to significant improvements in insulin, insulin resistance, waist circumference and markers of inflammation. These results show that green tea can counteract the negative effects of body fat in menopause.
